Details

This tour departs from Toronto (Yorkdale mall) to Algonquin Park - Canada's oldest Provincial Park. A truly tree-mendous place.

Saturday departure time: 07:30 AM

Friday/Sunday/Thanksgiving Monday departure time: 09:00 AM

On your day out at Algonquin Provincial Park and Ragged Falls, you'll enjoy a hike on a scenic trail with a nice view, a group canoe on the Oxtongue river, and a visit to the picturesque Ragged Falls. Ragged Falls is a super powerful waterfall in a picturesque setting. The day will also include a visit to the Algonquin Visitor center followed by a short hike (approx 2km) to a picturesque lookout. A comfortable small bus to transport you to and from Toronto, as well as entry permits and driver guide. Some companies call these vehicles "executive vans", we prefer to call ours the Moose.

Our driver guide (First responder certified) will supply edutainment to make the road trip all the more memorable. With a TV onboard, we'll supply programming to help you learn about the park, the animals and watch a movie on the way back to break up the long journey.

This trip will take place in our 15 passenger customized transit. Onboard we have basic WIFI, an N64, Karaoke and more! However there is not a washroom. We will make washroom breaks every 1-2 hours or at the groups request.

This trip departs from Toronto (Yorkdale TTC Passenger pick up).

FAQ's

What's included?

☑️ Return transportation

☑️ Entry permit for Algonquin provincial Park

☑️ Guided Group Canoe experience to Ragged Falls

☑️ Hiking in Nature

Will there be food?

We suggest bringing some snacks with you to sustain the day. While we'll make a stop in Huntsville for a washroom/grocery break, it's worth noting that the Canoe and Hike experience lasts 3 hours from approx 11 - 2. A picnic on the hike is a good idea (not inculded) so planning for that is a suggestion. The visitor centre does have a cafeteria and a microwave if you'd like to heat food up. They have a donation system for the items available but please note, it is somewhat limited.

Parking

We do our pick-ups from Yorkdale TTC passenger pick-up. We suggest taking public transportation to the meeting point. If you must take the car, the options are to park at Wilson Passenger pick-up and parking—this is free on the weekends and subject to availability. We would not suggest parking at Yorkdale Mall as vehicles may be ticketed or towed after 5 hours.

Fitness

If you're really into hiking then we suggest you join our camping trips to Algonquin, Killbear or Bruce Peninsula - all of those trips have longer hikes. There are two hikes on this Algonquin day trip - one at Ragged falls which is short and categorized as easy. The round trip takes 20 minutes and does go up an elevation. The second hike is the lookout hike which is classed as Moderate. It is 2.1 km long and does go up an elevation. The path is flat but if you have any fitness concerns, this trip may not be for you. We will also be doing approx 2 hours of group canoeing - the good news is that there are many people in each canoe so breaks are possible.

Can I bring my pet?

We love animals, but we can't allow pets, we’re afraid. We will designate a few pet-friendly dates each year, but it's impossible for us to know if anyone has an allergy to dogs or cats, etc., ahead of time, and we don't want to cause any reactions in an enclosed space. We really do think dogs are paw-fect! And we will aim to offer some pet-friendly dates which will be clearly listed in the future.
